Jill
Hello my name is Jill. My journey in life has not been the easiest but I can now look back and be proud of myself for overcoming difficult obstacles that life sometimes throws at us. People say I’m stubborn and strong willed which to me is a good thing because I wouldn’t be where I am at today if I wasn’t. I have always loved helping individuals to better themselves from the inside out. I have my Masters Degree in Psychology and will be enrolling in my Doctoral program this summer for my Ph.d in Psychology.
I was a personal trainer for 12 plus years working with children, adolescents and adults. I was also a Doula helping women through their pregnancy and childbirth. I have developed a passion for animal therapy, specifically Equine Therapy. I am an EAGALA certified Equine Specialist. This therapy is particularly effective for recovering from PTSD, trauma, mental illness and substance abuse addictions. I love to listen and understand the history of a person and help them on the path to recovery.
In my spare time I enjoy being around my animals which include, 4 cats, 2 dogs, 12 horses, 3 goats, and lots of chickens! Working outside and being around the animals is my therapy. I have a blended family that includes 9 children. Life is crazy so enjoy the ride.

I have an excellent understanding the struggles of everyday life. I care a great deal about people, where they want to go in life, and helping them achieve their goals. I am well-suited to dealing with self-esteem improvement and social issues. I am a certified stress management coach.

Hi, my name’s Amber. I have worked in Customer Service and Caretaking roles for the past 5 years. Joshua
Greetings! My name is Joshua Charland. I have had many life experiences in working with kids, teenagers and adults which has molded me into the person I have become today. Coaching multiple levels of youth sports from Fast Pitch Softball, Girls Hockey, Baseball and Boys Hockey, has taught me how to connect with many different personalities and help them reach their goals. Having the chance to work with boys & girls at all ages to teach them how to have good work ethic, how to handle winning, losing and trusting one another as they went after a common goal was extremely rewarding.
I have two children, one grandchild, two cats, two dogs and we all love the outdoors. I spend many hours on the water fishing many different species of fish and taking others along to enjoy the experience. I am also an avid hunter and practice my hunting privileges often, while trying to put wild game in my freezer every year.

Welcome to your Healing Journey!
Healing Energy is a multitude of modalities, including but not limited to: Reiki, Chakra Balancing, Tibetan Pulsing, Essential Oils, and Breath work. My practice consists of a mix of these modalities and are modified to serve each individual clients’ needs. I discovered my intuitive and metaphysical abilities at a very young age, but didn’t realize they had a name or a place in the world until my early twenties. In 2012, I met my Mentor and began intense, but incredibly gratifying training in the Healing Arts. I have had the privilege to work with infants, children, adolescents and adults.
In summary, we all come here with a different map, and purposes, enduring a variety experiences and lessons along the way. Some being very difficult to verbalize, understand or move forward from in a healthy manner. You are not here to do it alone. Everyone deserves to heal, and has the power to do so. Together, we will work to help you rebalance, reconnect and remember who you are in this life.
In my free moments, I enjoy spending time with my children and family (human and animal), being outdoors, yoga & exercise, writing, fishing, riding motorcycle with my Dad and reading. I have two dogs and two cats.

Kevin
Hello, my name is Kevin Mannel and I live in Menomonie. I am retired after working 32 years in the social services field in both Wisconsin & California. As a grandfather and previous public employee, I understand the important role mentoring can play in a person’s life. Everyone should have significant others who believe in their best interest(s) to help them achieve & build foundations of self-esteem.
My lovely wife Shirl, our 3 children, 6 grandchildren & 2 dogs (Cali & Foxy) keep me rather busy. However, I believe mentoring will enrich those I mentor & myself. The quote; “it takes a village to raise a child” implies that all of us are responsible to be positive influences to children & youth within our communities. My wife & I have always tried to live with this motto & contribute whenever possible. From coaching little league baseball to youth groups, we’ve tried to contribute to the personal successes of others.
I enjoy the outdoors fishing, kayaking, boating, golfing, gardening, hiking or little projects on our vacant land. I also enjoy watching organized sports in particular if I know the participant(s). I look forward to the conversations that naturally occur when participating or observing these or other activities so trusting relationships occur. Take care!

Hi, my name is Paula and I live in Spring valley. Two of my favorite things to do are Smile, and give hugs. I am the mother of 3 girls of my own as well as the soon to be stepmother to my fiancés’ son and daughter. Our children’s ages range from 12 to 18 years old. So, as you can imagine life can be very crazy around our house hold! We love to spend time as a family doing things like sitting around a fire and roasting all kinds of foods, hanging out at my family’s farm, going to movies, going to church, etc. I also enjoy scrapbooking very much! However, we spend a lot of time running to practices, and sporting events as well.
I grew up on a farm just outside of Elmwood, WI where I watched my Dad overcome one obstacle after another because he was born disabled. That is where my passion stems from. I have spent the majority of my adult life working with individuals with disabilities. I did this in group homes, and through in-home care. I have spent the last five years working as a Paraprofessional for the Elmwood School district. I worked with special needs students of all ages to find and implement a learning strategy that worked best for each individual student. I assisted with organization skills, stress management skills, study skills, life skills, as well as working to enhance self-esteem, and social skills.

Jeremy
Hello, my name is Jeremy and I live in Spring Valley, WI. I have two wonderful Children and three step Daughters. In September of 2019 I got married to an amazing woman. I became the step father to three great girls. I enjoy time with my family, especially around a camp fire. We also enjoy movies, games, and going to church together. I love sports. I love animals. I love all that life has to offer.
I was born and raised in Western Wisconsin. In 1999 I married my high school sweetheart. We were blessed with a little boy in 2001. In 2002 my wife was killed in a car accident. I was alone, afraid, and angry. I also had a little boy depending on me to be strong. My son sustained a TBI in the car accident, which would bring years of other challenges. In 2004 I remarried and we were blessed with a little girl. In 2011 my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought vigilantly for over 4 years, but passed away in December of 2015. I have been through so much in my life and often asked myself “why me”.
Throughout all of these tragic events I can say that everything happens for a reason. All preparing me for life’s up and downs. All bringing me to a place where I can help others to strive in a world so much greater than they currently see it. I have been in the dark and fought my way out. I have embraced my children and helped them to navigated their grief. I have taught them to find positive coping skills. I feel that I have a unique ability to help and guide others down a healthy path. I have a yearning to brighten the world around me. Together we can find a wonderful path for you, and I can help you to see what an amazing world we live in. I look forward to our adventures together!

Carolyn
Greetings all, I am Carolyn and I currently reside in Menomonie, WI and have a home in Clark County. I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and life coach , a hobby farm business owner (animal & bee lover), parent of two amazing girls and a Lecturer at a University in Wisconsin. I have over 15 years of experience in the helping profession working with children, adolescents and adults in all capacities!
Nine years ago, it all started for me with an idea of doing something different in the world by helping others to help themselves change their lives! I was working hard, but not feeling like I was making an impact as I was working in the criminal justice system and consistently kept seeing the same thing day in and day out. The revolving door of hurt people, hurting people really impacted me to the point of which I needed to do more than what I was! I formed my business working with individuals with co-occurring disorders and then with individuals with disabilities gain independence via employment that grew over the years into more holistic services. With everything that I do I take a holistic approach. I truly believe in the ripple effect where one part of your life impacts other areas of your life. Balance is always easier said than done, but balance can be achieved.
Services I offer include the following: Psychoeducation, Co-parenting Support, Wellness Management and Recovery, Employment Skills Training, Cognitive Behavioral Skills, Anger Management and Domestic Violence Relationship Education, Motivational & Self Esteem Education, Life Navigation and Coaching, Outdoor Activities, and Individual Skill Development and Enhancement.

Randy
Hi Everyone! My name is Randy.
I am a hard worker and I never give up on anything; it’s not in me. I love seeing everyone smile. I enjoy being outside & I have taught myself to live off the land. My family is the same way.
We all spend time outdoors, fishing, hunting, gathering, hiking and building things we find in nature.
I also have a hobby (which has become a career) of cooking. I cater for big events, such as fundraisers and weddings. The smiles from the people I cooked for and say that they love the way I cook, is what feeds my dream.
I help out every year with a fundraiser for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital because I believe that every child needs to smile. This event that we put on helps children and their families. It warms my heart to help and find out about children recovering and smiling their way through life after they have been helped.
I have three wonderful children, all boys. My twin boys go to their Mom’s house every other month and we all work really well together for our families. It is an amazing feeling and proof that I never give up on anything in life.
I have pushed hard through life and it has made me into the person that I am today. The hard times make you stronger because the “Love of Life” is amazing and we all want to enjoy it.

Masha
Hello! My name is Masha and I currently live in Wheeler, WI. My passion in life has always been to help animals and people with trauma. I’ve spent the past 3 years training horses full time as well as giving lessons. I take in a lot of horses that have had past trauma and need to learn to trust humans again. I really enjoy making the connection with not only the horse but the owner as well.
I was born in Russia and moved to the U.S when I was 2 years old. I don’t have much for family over here and have had to over come a lot of personal struggles in life. Growing up I really struggled with life, always feeling alone, going through depression and anxiety and having no one there that understood it. Horses were always my escape and without them I truly don’t think I would've made it. As hard as it was learning how to overcome all the struggles on my own it most definitely shaped me into who I am today and gave me a lot of valuable skills.
It saddens me to think of all the people in the world that also don’t have someone there to understand what they are mentally going through. My goals is to help as many people as I can work through their traumas and know that I am there for them and I DO understand how they are feeling.
I really enjoy anything that is outdoors. Going to the beach, working with any type of animal, parks, hiking, etc.

Petti
My name is Petti Mannel and I am extremely honored to be a Mentor here at Rolling Hills Equine. Children have been a passion of mine since I was young myself. I did not necessarily grow up in the best of circumstances and it took me a while to get things right and be the productive member of society I am today. My eldest daughter, Alexia, is a huge reason for why I chose to be better, to do better. Now, I am the proud mother to four children: Alexia, Tasha, Sierra, and Sye. I am also a wife of over 25 years, a dog-mom, and to my greatest delight, a grandma of three (so far!).
My past experiences helped shaped the woman I am today and led me on the adventure of being a daycare owner and operator for 15 years! I started out with just a few children and worked from my home, but I knew I could help more children and families so ultimately I ended up buying a small house in the town of Rib Lake, Wisconsin and expanded. By the time I was done, I cared for, mentored, and helped mold nearly 50 children – many of whom I had in my care from infancy to high school.
As my children grew up, I was also active at their school – I even coached tee-ball, baseball, and softball for 5 years! Although I moved away from working with the youth of this world, I could not bring myself to stray far. The last six years of my life have been spent taking care of the elderly. There is something just as precious about working with those who are living their best and final years as there is about working with the youth who have just begun their entire life.
No matter how or where my life takes me, I continue to circle back to that vibrancy of youth and once again have decided I need to step up and step in where I can do more. I hope I can be a positive influence too many, if not all, of you!

Sherry
Hello, I am Sherry Wesolowski. Ever since I was old enough to babysit. I have always loved connecting with children. I was a tutor in high school working with students and my parents were both teachers. They inspired me to also want to become a teacher. I have been a teacher for 24 years and worked with students of all ages and abilities. I graduated from Winona State University with a double major of Elementary and Special Education.
My passions are teaching reading and working with students with disabilities. I have had extensive training with dyslexia and multi-sensorial methods. It has been very rewarding seeing students succeed when an effective strategy takes hold and students have learned how to improve their executive functioning skills with attention, memory, organization, and emotional skills.
Teaching also allows me to incorporate my creative talents. I have been told that I am an excellent problem solver who often likes to think outside the box. Most recently. I have used these talents being a curriculum designer for a virtual travel education company.
We enjoy spending time together at our family cabin in Birchwood, Wi. I have taken a hiatus from teaching recently to provide support for my parents. They were both recently diagnosed with cancer. I enjoy cooking them healthy meals and learning about holistic treatments.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, painting, traveling, and participating in personal development leadership seminars.

Mellie
I specialize in using a body-oriented therapeutic model to work with those who are seeking post-trauma growth and body-mind connection skills. I use movement, body awareness exercises, and other somatic practices to build skills around connecting the body’s experiences to language, building resilience, and supporting the nervous system throughout an individual’s process of personal growth and healing.
I use a psychoeducation-based approach incorporating Somatic Experiencing®, therapeutic yoga, fitness and exercise, holistic embodiment practices, NeuroAffective Touch® concepts, and other somatic (body-based) tools. This work helps build the bridge between body and mind, offering the opportunity for integration and whole-person healing. I use a polyvagal-informed psychobiological approach to support those who have experienced trauma, those who are neurodivergent, those who have sensory processing challenges, and those who need other personalized services to support their mental health needs.
My professional background is heavily focused on wellness and healing arts as well as providing services and education to promote building self-awareness, empowerment, and resilience. My experience includes clinical acupuncture, relational bodywork, herbal medicine, and nutrition education. I have lived experience being neurodivergent and personally understand the impacts of navigating the world with a sensory processing disorder, developmental trauma, and other obstacles that can come along with neurodivergence.
I love to help people connect with their bodies and their own inner wisdom as we reflect, learn, holistically process, and experience personal growth. I live near Menomonie with my fiancé, cat, and 2 ferrets. I enjoy foraging for edible and medicinal plants and mushrooms, gardening, doing yoga, and lifting weights. I have a great appreciation for quiet, alone time in nature for recharging and recentering. I also love doing education and advocacy work on the topics of trauma, embodiment practices, autism, and neurodivergence.
* Please note that due to a severe allergy, I am unable to work in homes where smoking is present.

Derek
Hello everyone! My name is Derek and I grew up in a small town in Western Wisconsin where we didn’t have a neighbor for a mile in each direction. I quickly learned to love anything that involved being outdoors or playing some kind of sport. I was fortunate enough to grow up with two brothers and one sister. I also had nearly 20 cousin’s just on one side of the family. Many of which were in the age group 1-5 years of age when I was an adolescent so I spent a lot of time babysitting and watching over as their young minds develop. This is where I feel my passion for working with kids started. I believe every person in this world deserves unconditional love and support from someone who matters to them. There are too many examples today of people doing the wrong thing instead of the right thing and I want to take my experience and life lessons and continue to educate the youth in doing the right things.
I currently work in operations at a company that builds and maintains gymnasium hardwood floors. This has allowed me to develop numerous skills when it comes to working with my hands and tools. I’ve also worked in a wellness center as a fitness trainer and helped run and operate a small farm milking cows. In addition to my work experience I have also volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters program, as well as volunteering for basketball, football, and wrestling camps for the youth. All of my job and life experiences have given me a wide range of understanding and skills that I would love to pass on to anyone I can!

Christi
Hi! My name is Christi. I grew up in Ellsworth, WI, and live just south of Baldwin with my husband and two kids. I have taken many different paths in my professional life but most of them have always lead me to work with kids.
Currently, I work in a school district as a Special Education Para, which I love! Prior to that, I worked in a nursing home as a CNA. One other job that I had, which was my favorite, was working in homes with autistic children. I would work not just with the kids but with the parents on different sensory games and give them tools to help in their everyday life. My hobbies are gardening, being with my family, camping, anything outdoors, reading, playing games, and helping others.
I truly believe the best things in life are free. Taking time for a game, reading a book, listening to a story, or even going for a walk. You can take one thing like that and it can mean so much to that person. The feeling that you see them, that they matter, and you are willing to help them and take the time to be with them. I am so excited to start this journey with RH and could not think of something I would rather do!

Dave
Hi, my name is Dave and I am excited to join the RHE team. I have always been the big kid of the family and usually the one that ends up playing with the kids. I have lots of hobbies that range from animals, hunting, outdoors, camping, gardening, cooking food, and my newest found passion is woodworking. A few years back I was in a work accident and had my right hand and the lower part of my arm amputated. This in itself is challenging but happened right after we bought an old farmhouse south of Baldwin, WI that we were doing a complete renovation on. My wife was my right hand, literally! We were able to keep our goals and work together. I think this experience has made us stronger, which is something I believe in. . . . there are always setbacks in life but if you stay focused, find a good path of things you love, you too can overcome anything.
I attended New Richmond Schools and graduated high school from there. After high school, I received my Auto Mechanic Degree, worked in a few different fields that ranged from construction, automotive, ag, and manufacturing. Then after my accident, I went back to college at the age of 36 and got my Machinist Degree.
I have a passion for kids, I love to teach them and help them grow in their own way that is fun. My niece is special needs and having ADHD of my own growing up, struggles and hurdles are different for everyone and they are not textbook. I hope to help kids in their own unique way through their passions, hobbies and interests. There are lessons everywhere we look, you just have to see them.

Devyn
Hello! My name is Devyn, I currently live in Menomonie WI, and I am a senior at The University of Wisconsin Stout in the Rehabilitation Services program with a concentrate of psychiatric rehab. I decided to go into this field because I have always had a strong passion of working with children along with helping people of all ages and backgrounds.
I currently work at a daycare with children 6 weeks to 7 years old, as well as at an adult group home with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. These current opportunities give me the pleasure of helping people from newborns to those over age 50.
Working at a daycare along with a group home has taught me the importance of going into each day with a positive attitude, eagerness to help, along with being very patient. Both jobs have given me a great experience with working with two totally different populations.
I grew up in Hudson WI and I have always had strong interest in hockey, hiking, animals (especially dogs), frisbee golf, traveling as well as spending time with my family and friends. These continue to be things I love to do whenever I have the opportunity. Overall, I love to always be busy, stay active, help others in personal growth, and to achieve their goals.

Gibb
Hello! My name is Gibb. I live in Downing, WI
I am the oldest of 5 kids. We grew up on a dairy farm and that is where I learned that hard work pays off. My life was very different for me, my dad wasn’t around much so I had to take care of my siblings and work to pay for household things. Even though this was a difficult time in my life I learned so much and that experience has made me the man I am today. Besides from being a farmer, I am also an electrician.
I am able to relate to many kids about growing up too fast and having one parent around. I learned many skills with my experience such as being patient, learning new skills to help my future, coping skills, the importance of friendship and most importantly learning to find my passion and what I am really good at.
I can build almost anything, I love the outdoors and exploring new areas, anything with farming I know and fishing is a fun hobby of mine. I am excited to help kids get through the bad times and to find themselves again. I had a mentor when I was a child and he changed my life. I am hoping to do the same with the kiddos I will be serving.
I am currently working as a plumber and in the summertime I like to attend and participate in tractor pulls. I also like to go four wheeling. During the winter I like to go snowmobiling and take snowmobiling trips to the mountains in WY or CO. Bowling is something I also enjoy.

Larissa
Hello, my name is Larissa, I am a recent graduate of Spring Valley High School. I have had to recover many obstacles in my youth life including dealing with parents divorce, being part of a blended family, and even a house fire where we lost everything. I have developed fantastic coping skills while navigating through these trials.
I worked with my friends who were struggling with some of the same issues, so they could learn to cope with their situations as well. Helping others navigate their unique life experiences and find the coping skills to overcome struggles has become a passion of mine, and I look forward to helping you make your story the best it can be.
My hobbies include art, gardening, shopping, doing anything involving animals and I love being outdoors. I was involved in basketball, volleyball and softball in high school. I was able to learn the importance of communication and team work. I will be attending UwRF in the fall.

MaKenna
Hello! My name is MaKenna, I have a bachelors degree from UW Stout. My true passion for helping others started at a young age when my brother, who is now 16, was diagnosed with Williams Syndrome at 9 months old. His diagnosis comes with medical, developmental and physical challenges. Although I was only 5 when he was born, I quickly became someone he could depend on. There have been many obstacles my family and I have had to face in order to support him the way he needs. Adapting to these obstacles lead me to grow up faster than any child should have to. Even though I felt as though I missed out on part of my childhood, I have realized over the years how much he has taught me in life. I definitely would not be who I am today without him in my life. He has unknowingly guided me in my desire to help others.
Through my experience I learned that finding a career helping others was something that was important to me. I become a personal care assistant for not only my brother, but for other children and teens with all different needs and abilities. I have been given many different avenues in this career, which has brought so much more experience than what I have learned in my personal life.
I love being able to help others achieve their goals, hopes and dreams; whatever size they may be. Allowing individuals to create their own goals and achieve them gives them the ability to become the best version of themselves. I believe creating a trusting relationship is key to supporting any individual. I am an encouraging, honest and passionate individual. I aspire to help others live the life they want and deserve to live.
I live on a hobby farm with horses, chickens, ducks, dogs and cats. I loved animals growing up, but moving to the country gave me the ability to take in more animals that needed help. When I am not working or taking care of my animals, I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and fishing as well as spending time with family and friends. I look forward to this new journey and helping you reach your goals and become the person you want to be, and are meant to be!
